Silver Creek Saloon
March 20, 1876

Bill shook her hand. He replied, "Thanks. I'll get that beer for ya now." He went to get the beer and place her order. In no time, he returned with her beer. He said, "Here ya go.".

"Thank ya, that's right kind."  Addy nodded, then took a sip of beer.  "Miss Emma's a good lady, you'll like workin' for her, leastways 'till there's trouble, unless ya like that sort'a bother."  She grinned, taking another swig of beer.

RIMFIRE
MAIN STREET
March 20, 1876

"Mr. Alcott, the cafe or the saloon sir, the choice is yours."

"I believe I would prefer the saloon. A bit of refreshment would be in order, along with the meal." Rance said with a smile. It would also provide a bit of night life. Mining camp night life could be most interesting he had found.

Bill said, "As for working for her, I might like it, but I intend to get something better, when it comes along. Anything else for ya till your meal comes up?"

When George waited for her, Elena's smile was both shy and sweet, her face pinkening as she fell into step with him.  "I...  Thank you."  She said her eyes downcast, watching him through her lashes.

"Perhaps."  Elena said, the corners of her lips turning down, "Maybe in the afternoon?"  She needed to find work, and thought she could spend her morning doing that.

When they reached the hotel, Elena turned, "Thank you for the escort.  It was right kind of you."  She bbbed her head then hurried inside to rejoin Sarah.

"Afternoon...um ...sure I reckon I make it if my brother let's me. I'll come by the hotel then," George nodded, happy she seemed inclined to spend some further time with him.

As they reached the hotel and she thanked him before heading inside, George smiled, "It was my pleasure. See ya."

Once she was out of sight, his smile grew only wider as he jauntily headed back to find Tom. This sure turned out to be a most interesting first day in this town.

Bill nodded and replied, "Yep the sheriff is dead. Lousy coward, shot him in the back is what I heard. Not sure who the varmint is though. Well if'n ya don't want nothing else, I'll get back to the bar. When your orders up, I'll bring it right over." He turned to head back to the bar.
