Also, if the route takes longer than 10mins it is an additional Down payment -25% for every 10mins after (say your down payment was 20mill for first 10mins, it would be 15mill for second 10mins)
If failure to complete trade route occurs the MERC will keep downpayment but will not recieve any more cash.
