INTRO As you all likely know MERC has been very inactive as of the last 2-3months. Many factors have played into this for me personally, and i am to believe for the other MERCs as well. So i will not speak of these reasons and possible reasons. (at least in this) This is to speak of MERCs future and other problems that i foresee to occur soon. I assure all non-MERCs the clan will be active again for your full use as soon as possible
Membership It's 2010! And MERC needs YOU! If you are not already a Member of MERC i strongly recommend joining today! the sooner you join the more fun you will have and you will acquire a higher rank then the guy that does after you Simply post in the forums here about joining, or contact a MERC in game to get your recruitment started!
MERC Portion
New Version of WTS (v4.18) I must admit regrettably i have not even looked at the beta, let alone the completed version. But now we face another major rebuild of a clan. Not only due to the version change but also largely due to our inactivity. I Strongly urge every member of MERC to be online as much as possible. it will help tremendously. I do not know of any new material that may help or may hinder us in this version. all of this information will be recorded on this forum asap after i learn of it myself , and please, if you find anything interesting POST IT!
Look for Contracts Please MERCs. i know it will be hard at the start of the version to fight, but i suggest you find bounty's and a few Traders to escort ASAP to get some credits, we all know we need them ! Plus the more jobs you complete the more likely it is you will receive more prizes from the challenges
Clan Goals/Challenges Clan goals for the next 2months are very basic. Maintain our member count above 10, re-establish ourselves as a sufficient clan as well as in the new version, and of course MAKE MONEY$$$!!!$$$
As for the challenges, all old challenges are still in place like the NPC kills and log time, but payouts are on hold until we get money and they have been reset. also look for more new challenges to come

Face facts, we all want more to register for our community. However please keep this in mind as you consider joining our forum. We want ones to register that have the same interests as we do. Recently the number of sign ups of random individuals for reasons other than our intention of gaming has increased. When you sign up at Mercenarys HQ you do not have the ability to do or post anything until you are recognized as a valid member of our gaming community. So if you where hoping to slide in the door and spam our forum, save yourself the time and use your creative energy elsewhere.
I posted this more for the benefit of valid potential registered users than the ones above, they rarely listen to me anyway. It is to help valid users understand if I PM you with a silly question about being part of the game community when you join up. Now you will understand why..

A welcome increase in activity on WTS is largest in nearly three years
With what reminds me of the activity level of winter of 2006, WTS world has shown that Freelancer still has plenty of life kicking in it's veins. Logging into the server in the "Dead Zone" that is my late night now rewards me with four to six players where it had become not at all uncommon to find possibly one AFK member. Peak time is now starting to exceed twenty connected players with a amazing regularity. The most notable change I must really comment and congratulate both the Sysop and MOD designer on is this, With this increase in load I have not seen a increase in lag and other problems. So get on there everyone and enjoy. And for the Clan, Make MERC very visible, show both your colors and how friendly we can be M8's.

Is the slow lullaby of space dust dancing on your hull putting you to sleep? Yes, MERC has little to shoot at but space rocks at the moment however things still need to be remembered.
No matter how it smells, don't stick your head in the muzzle of the Cruise Disruptor Launcher, You will clog up perfectly useful MERC equipment if it should fire unexpectedly.
Hull bumping asteroids into neutral traders might be entertaining as you watch them frantically scramble to shoot them, but unless paid otherwise, we are "good guys" even when you are bored.
Hazzaah said "Do not touch my ship", trust me on this. He didn't just walk away a leave it with us about unguarded. If any of you hair brains get a itch to even look in it's direction, let me know in advance. I want to be several systems away when your all vaporized...
